Left/right emerge

Emerge left juction

When
you know you are turning start your routine. On approach to the junction, check
your middle and left mirrors, If safe then signal left in good time if not
confusing to inform other road users, postion on approach when turning left just
keep your normal driving position, start to slow down to an appropraite speed
for the junction by using your brakes, start looking left and right early to
assess the junction and flow of traffic, if the junction is open you might be
able to approach in 2nd gear but in most cases your view will be restricted so
you probably need 1st gear, as you near the junction decide if it is going to be
safe to proceed you will need to give way to any traffic coming but can go if
its is clear. make sure you approach the junction at a speed that will give time
to assess and decide if its safe, if you are going really slow you may need to
put your clutch in to avoid stalling, look well into the new road and make sure
it is safe to turn, if all is clear turn the corner if not wait until a suitable
space comes, you must not make any cars slow down when you emerge, check your
mirrors and then build up to the speed of the road when you have turned. If when
you get to the end of the road if your view is restricted you will need to move
out slowly into the road using your peep and creep routine.
